The Nashua Board of Aldermen approved the City of Nashua operating budget of $317,505,102, including the Nashua Board of Education approved NSD operating budget of $121,864,804, at its June 27, 2023 meeting. The $121,864,894 school operating budget excludes the cost of city-funded employee benefits.
June 20, 2023
Daniel Donovan, Chief Operating Officer, presented the Board-approved operating budget to the Nashua Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, June 6. The Board of Aldermen have scheduled a public hearing on the entire FY2024 City of Nashua operating budget, including the school district operating budget, on Tuesday, June 20 at Nashua High School North, with the expectation of a final review and approval by the end of June.

The Nashua Board of Education voted on Tuesday to approve Dr. Andrade's recommended operating budget for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, without any increases or decreases in expenditures. The total BOE-approved FY2024 budget stands at $125,430,149, excluding city-funded employee benefits, and is a 3.01% increase over last year's operating budget. The Board is sending the approved budget to the Nashua Board of Aldermen for review and final approval, which is expected before school ends in June.

The Nashua Board of Education budget committee will initiate its budget development process on March 22, when Dr. Andrade presents a recommended operating budget for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.

Mayor James Donchess issued budget guidelines last month for each division in the City of Nashua, including the Nashua School District. Please click here to read his memorandum, asking for all divisions to adhere to a 3% increase in operating budget requests.
