All CURRENT and NEW band members must fill out and return the Band Instrumental Form to their school's MUSIC TEACHER. They are available from your music teacher or HERE to download.
The Nashua School District’s Music Department is offering free lessons on band instruments to students in the fourth and fifth grades. Lessons are taught at each school in a small group instructional setting for 30-minutes each week. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to begin the study of a musical instrument.
Lessons are available on the following instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone and Drum/Bell Combo.
If you desire to have your child take advantage of these lessons, please complete the lesson registration form and return it to your child’s music teacher by WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th.
Each elementary school has its own Band of which instrumental students become members.
You need to have an instrument available for your child to use. Some students already own their instruments. For students that do not have an instrument available to them, rental programs provide an inexpensive way for your child to obtain the instrument they would like to learn. You have the option to rent an instrument from any music store or company of your choice. The host company at the NASHUA INSTRUMENTAL DAY will be David French Music Company.
ALSO, the District will be providing PPE (playing masks and bell covers) and proper protocols will be followed in lessons and band.
The INSTRUMENTAL RENTAL DAY will be hosted on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2021 at NASHUA HIGH SCHOOL SOUTH AUDITORIUM from 10am – 12:30. PLEASE USE THE AUDITORIUM ENTRANCE (rear of building across from the South tennis courts).
Approximate costs are:
Group A instruments is $28.00 ($23.00 +$5.00 R&R insurance) for flutes, clarinets, trumpets, trombones, drum/bell combo;
Group B $42.00 ($36.00 + $6.00 R&R insurance) for alto saxophones and oboe. This is for the first three months, after which the rental cost goes to a monthly fee. (i.e. $28.00 Group A and $42.00 Group B)
Regarding payment options, credit cards MasterCard, Visa, Discovery and American Express may be used, Debit Cards must have the MasterCard or Visa Logo. Initial payment may be made by charge or personal check. Subsequent monthly payments will be charged to your credit card or you can elect to have mail statements sent to you. You are under no obligation to rent an instrument at this event and you are most welcome to rent from any company you chose.

1st year band students will also need to purchase BOOK 1 - Premier Performance for Band ($9.95) (The only exception will be the drum/bell combo book at $19.95) These books as well as music stands ($9.95) will be available at the rental day for your convenience. You can also purchase the music book and a music stand at Darryl's Music Hall.
Your child’s lesson schedule will be posted at their school shortly after the instrument distribution.
If you cannot attend the Rental Day, there is an online option available with David French Music Co. at www.davidfrenchmusic.com. The rental process is quick and easy so please make every attempt to attend the Rental Day to get it done that day!! Covid Protocols will be in place!
