    CALLING ALL EMS FAMILIES!

We are looking for gift card donations for upcoming Trimester 1 Honor Roll Parties for all grades.  Students earning Honor Roll status will get a ticket to go to the Honor Roll Party for their grade.  Their invitation will be used as a raffle ticket for a Gift Card raffle.  Each grade typically has 150-200 students making the honor roll!  It’s so rewarding to be able to raffle off 20 or so gift cards per party. Looking for denominations of $5.00 or $10.00.  Donations can be dropped off at the Main Office or the Guidance Office.

    Thank you in advance!

    DID YOU MISS PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES?

     UPDATED: STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS

The Registration for Student Chromebooks has been extended!

If you choose to participate in this program, your child will receive a Chromebook and a charger. There is a standard Technology Fee of $25.00 that will be assessed for all students, regardless of Free and Reduced Lunch status, who are choosing to participate in this program.  This fee will cover your school-issued Chromebook against a variety of losses and accidental damage. If your child participates in this program, the expectation is that the child will bring the charged Chromebook to school daily. The Nashua School District reserves the right to amend the agreement at any time.

Families who wish to be provided with a school issued device should review the user agreement and pay via the online portal, which has been updated, by Tuesday, November 22nd.

    Chromebook Agreement

    Online Payment Portal
    (Updated with Elm St)

Distribution of Chromebooks will begin on December 5th and continue through the 10th.   Online payment should be made at the link above. If paying in person, please pay in cash/check and come to the main office and we will provide a copy of the agreement for your signature.

     STUDENT CELL PHONE POLICY

Please be aware that cell phones are to be put away in backpacks/bags while in school and only used with the staff's permission. If a student uses their cell phone without permission, it will be retained and kept in the guidance office until the end of the day when they can pick it up. If a student's phone has been retained repeatedly, it will be given to the main office, and a parent or guardian will have to come to the school to get it back. Please refrain from contacting students during the day, which would violate this policy.

See Cell Phone Policy from the student handbook below:

Cell Phones & Other Electronic Devices

MP3/IPODs and other electronic devices (music or gaming) are not allowed.

Cell phones are not to be used in school during school hours (this includes during lunch).  They are to be turned off and safely stored.

Earbuds/Earphones and other electronic accessories must be safely secured and not visible.

Violations will result in the confiscation of the device and a parent must come in to pick it up.  Further disciplinary actions will occur for repeat offenders.  The school is not responsible for these items if they are lost or stolen.

    LATE ARRIVALS/ABSENCES

Attendance is required on all school days. Patterns of absences, tardiness, or incidents of dismissal not determined by the school to be caused by sickness or other justifiable reasons shall be reported by the Principal to the District's Attendance Officer.

To report an absence, please call our 24-hour attendance line: 603-966-3950 no later than 9:00AM, if possible. If someone doesn't answer, please do not continuously call the school. Please leave a detailed message and state your name, your student's name, and then the spelling of their name and the reason for the absence. If we are not notified of a student's absence, a call from our automated "Alert Now" system will notify the student's parents/guardians. All absences reported after 9:59AM will trigger the phone call home.

As a reminder, school arrival is between 7:45AM-7:59AM. A student is considered late and will be marked tardy if they are not in class by 8:00AM. If a student arrives after 8:10AM and does not check in to the office, they will be marked absent for the day and an automated call with go home. Late students are to report to the Assistant Principal's office window for a tardy slip from 8:10AM-8:30AM. Any student that arrives after 8:30AM should check-in with the Main Office.

    DISMISSALS

In the event that you need to dismiss your student for any reason, we kindly ask that you follow the procedure below:

To obtain a dismissal pass, parents/guardians should send in a note the morning of the dismissal.  List the student name, reason for dismissal, contact phone number, time of dismissal and sign it. The student should bring the note to the Main Office first thing in the morning where they will be issued a pass that will allow them to leave class at the time of the noted dismissal. Students will NOT BE CALLED DOWN for dismissal. Students should take their pass back to the Main Office at the time of their dismissal. Parents/guardians are encouraged to park in front of the building where students have clear visibility from the Main Office to ensure their ride is here.

If parents/guardians do not send in a note requesting a dismissal, they will need to come into the Main Office with a photo ID, and sign their student out of the building. This is disruptive to classroom learning time, as the classroom will have to be called.  We urge you to send in a note ahead of the dismissal whenever possible to smooth the process. We kindly ask that you do not call ahead if you have an unexpected (or forgotten) dismissal as we will not call the student down until you have entered the building.

If a note has been sent in and verified prior to dismissal, parents can wait in the parking lot in the car for their student. There is no need to come in to the building if you have followed this procedure.

Students should not call or text home to be dismissed due to medical reasons without the nurses' consent.

If a student is not feeling well:

    1. The student should inform the teacher of the illness and he/she will provide a written pass to the nurse's office.

    2. The nurse will determine whether the student's illness is severe enough to call the parent/guardian and together with the parent/guardian determine if the student will be sent home.
