    Bicentennial's Mission

Bicentennial School will be the model for excellence in public education for our students, staff and community and will educate the whole child to empower student success.  Bicentennial School values a passion for learning and the importance of integrity, trust, respect, empathy and tenacity.

Bicentennial is located in south Nashua, on the Massachusetts border.  Our neighborhood extends east and north to Route 3 and west to Salmon Brook.  We educate approximately 575 students in preschool through grade five.  They are supported by a staff of 94 adults.  Bicentennial is an ethnically diverse school community with 46% Caucasian, 41% Asian, 8% Hispanic and 5% African American students.  Our English Language Learner Program supports 86 students.  Inclusively, students speak over 20 different languages and families have direct ties to over 45 countries. Academically, we focus on Common Core standards related to language arts, mathematics, social studies and science.  A strong unified arts program which includes art, music, physical education, library and computer round out our curriculum.  Academic growth is measured through standards based assessments such as iReady, Smarter Balanced, Running Records, and numerous informal assessments. Bicentennial has a vibrant Parent Teacher Organization which conducts annual fund raising, and holds monthly spirit nights and celebrations including Pizza Night, Bingo Night and the Snowflake Formal. The PTO also staffs all our after-school enrichment events which include Lego League, Destination Imagination, Battle of the Books, the Ski Program, Cross Country, Continental Math, Math Olympiad and Foreign Language Program.  Building-based, after school care, The Adventure Club, is run by The Adult Learning Center and is available to students in Kindergarten through grade five.
