Kindergarten Registration Postponed Until Schools Reopen

Because of school closure due to COVID-19, kindergarten registration is suspended until further notice.

Certainly the Nashua School District will re-institute registration as soon as possible.

Children who turn five years-of-age by September 30, 2020 are eligible for kindergarten.

Registering as soon as possible is important to allow planning for kindergarten classes that start in the new school year. The school district’s goal is to keep each kindergartener in his or her neighborhood elementary school. But if classes at that neighborhood school reach capacity, a late-registering kindergartener may have to attend another elementary school that has a seat available for him or her in its classes. Each kindergarten class is capped at 20 students. Registering this spring allows for school district officials and principals to plan for each kindergartener in the new school year.
