The Nashua School District continues to urge parents to register their children for kindergarten as soon as possible. Children who turn 5 years of age by September 30, 2020 are eligible for kindergarten.
Registering now is important to allow for planning for kindergarten classes that start in the new school year. The school district's goal is to keep each kindergartener in his or her neighborhood elementary school. But if classes at that neighborhood school reach capacity, a late registering kindergartener may have to attend another elementary school that has a seat available to him or her in its classes. Each kindergarten is capped at 20 students. Registering this spring allows for school district officials and principals to plan for each kindergartener in the new school year.
