The NTC Advantage

Many NTC programs offer students the opportunity to collect college credit while still in high school, jumpstarting their postsecondary plans and cutting down on the time and money it takes to earn their degree. 

These Community College System of New Hampshire dual and concurrent enrollment programs are called Early College, and the state offers scholarships for students to take up to two college courses per academic year tuition-free (although there may be additional cost for books and course materials). Some NTC programs have articulation agreements with individual colleges, which allow students postsecondary credit for their NTC work and/or a jumpstart to more advanced courses in college.

Early College on a College Campus enables high school students to take up to two on-campus NH Community College courses per academic year with no cost for tuition. Early College at Your High School are college courses taught by high school teachers with college-level credentials using a college syllabus and course materials, allowing students to earn both high school and college credit.

Today’s job market demands a better educated workforce than ever before, and jobs in this new economy require more complex knowledge and skills than jobs of the past. So today’s high school students need to find a competitive edge if they’re going to successfully compete for career and college placement after graduation.

NTC’s Career Pathway programs provide that competitive edge by weaving college and career readiness activities into the curriculum, and by connecting most students to opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications, professional licensure and/or college credits.

Work-based learning, or WBL, connects NTC students with real-world experiences where they can develop academic, technical and professional skills at industry job sites, businesses or community organizations.

These authentic workplace opportunities provide students with safe and structured career exploration experiences that can deeply influence how they develop and direct their college and career plans.
