Dear NSD Families, Staff, and Fellow Residents of Nashua,
We are delighted to announce Dr. Garth McKinney will continue to serve as Superintendent of Schools through the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Dr. McKinney stepped up to serve as Superintendent in late January, replacing former Superintendent Jahmal Mosley while he transitioned to a new position with the South Hadley, Massachusetts Public Schools.
We know Dr. McKinney as someone whose leadership and integrity have already served the District well. We can count on his firsthand knowledge of our District to ensure a smooth opening to the new school year. At the same time, we look to Dr. McKinney as a careful steward of our District's mission and promise, knowledgeable about its great strengths, mindful of the challenges that lie ahead, and attentive to our shared commitment to each student's success.
Please join us in continuing to support Dr. McKinney as Superintendent of the Nashua School District, as he serves in an interim capacity until June 30, 2022.

Dear NSD Families, Staff, and Nashua Residents,
It is with great pleasure to announce two finalists for Superintendent of Schools for the Nashua School District:
- Dr. Mario Andrade, Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Elementary (Interim)
- Nashua (NH) School District
- Dr. Tarrynce Robinson, School Support Officer
- Houston (TX) Independent School District
We want you to be the first to hear the news of the two finalists, who we believe possess the leadership qualities we are all looking for in the next Superintendent of Schools. The Board initially interviewed five candidates, based on the Superintendent Search Leadership Profile.
We are particularly grateful for the time you took in March, at the beginning of our search process, to share with us your thoughts that led to the development of the Leadership Profile. An invested 2,719 of you responded to the superintendent search survey, which was the most from any school district with whom our veteran search consultants had worked, and an equally invested 149 participated in focus groups and community forum. The Board is grateful for the rich community feedback that guided our work and set the tone for the subsequent recruitment and interview processes in selecting our stellar finalists. Now we are at the final stage of our search, and we are confident in the abilities of each of our finalists to lead our school district.
The final interviews will take place this week, with Dr. Andrade on Wednesday, May 19 and Dr. Robinson on Thursday, May 20. We are looking to announce our selection next week.
In the meantime, we want to thank you once again for your support and invite you to view the interviews, which will be broadcast live on the City of Nashua’s cable channel devoted to education, Nashua ETV.

The Nashua Board of Education takes important steps this month in searching for a new superintendent of schools and seeks input to assist in the development of a leadership profile.
School staff, and school and community members are invited to take part in a focus group, virtually through video conferencing software, to help identify the most important attributes the new leader of Nashua’s public schools should possess to be successful.
“Our focus groups will gather information from nearly 150 stakeholders, divided into groups of 6-12, 40 of whom will be selected through random lottery, based on a form,” said Jessica Brown, a member of the Nashua Board of Education and chair of its Ad Hoc Superintendent Search Committee.
Interested participants can find the focus group form here, as soon as it is available.
In addition to participating in a focus group, school staff, and school and community members are invited to provide feedback by participating either in a community forum or an online survey:
