So You Want to Mummify a Chicken?

Link: Chicken Mummification Directions
As a culminating activity for our study of ancient Egypt, we decided to learn about the process of mummification using a chicken! Take a look at our chicken mummification lab!

Chicken Mummification Process:
Day One: We took the weight of the chicken and then we measured the width and length. We then rubbed the chicken with baking soda and salt. We filled the body cavity with a salt, baking soda and powdered bleach mixture (natron). We put the chicken in a bag and covered it completely with natron. We will check it in three days.
