I regret to inform you that all elementary school planetarium shows have been cancelled for this year.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Each show is different.  The following is a list of topics that have been covered in the past.  Please contact the director to customize a particular show for your needs.

What's Up There?

level:  Elementary / Middle

In this show, we explore what the night sky looks like, what it contains, and how humans are able to "reach for the stars."

The Earth, Moon & Sun

level:  Elementary / Middle

Everyone is familiar with these three things, but how many people really know what they are looking at.  In this show, we explore the connection between the Earth, Moon & Sun.  We also explore the phases of the moon, and where/when the moon rises and sets.

Our Universe

level:  High School

subject:  Physical Science

What causes the seasons?  How does the Earth Rotate?  Is there gravity in space?  What are some of the strange objects in the night sky?

Constellations

level:  High School

subject:  Humanities

This show explores the constellations of the night sky and the myths they inspired.  We also go through an in depth discussion of the zodiac, discovering the meaning behind our astrological signs.

The Sun in the Sky

level:  High School

subject:  Physics

Here, students make a mathematical analysis of the sun's path through the sky.  They use the concepts of the inclination of the Earth's axis to explain the Equator, Ecliptic, Tropic of Cancer/Capricorn, and the Polar Circles.

Astrochemistry

level:  High School

subject:  Chemistry

How did the universe begin?  Where did all the matter in the universe come from?  How do stars make energy?  How do scientists study the chemical makeup of our universe?  We will try to answer some of these questions and raise more.

Astrobiology

level:  High School

subject:  Biology

Scientists are busy sending robots to Mars and Saturn to look for signs of life.  Why?  Does life exist elsewhere in the universe?  How might we be able to find it?  What can the search for extraterrestrial life tell us about ourselves.

Let there be Light

level:  High School

subject:  Physics

Astronomers have learned a great deal about the universe simply by looking at it.  In this show, we'll explore how the principles of optics are used in telescopes.  We'll also explore how different information is revealed in different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum

Advanced Topics

level:  AP

The meaning of time, the analemma, the precession of the Earth's axis & orbit, galactic spring, and more!
