Gain machine tool trade entry-level skills by working on individual projects. Learn how to safely operate a variety of machines including lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders. You will also receive instruction in applied mathematics, blueprint reading, inspection, and foundry techniques. This course is designed for those interested in a career in the machine tool industry or mechanical engineering. Prerequisite: NTC Director’s office approval of your application

Full Year Course

Fabricate a high quality security safe using advanced machining processes. You will use computer controlled machine tools to make some safe components. Through this hands-on process, you learn jig and fixture design and production machining. Prerequisite: Machining Technology 1 Note: Enrollment requires approval of NTC Directors office and instructor. Students can opt to earn college credit in this course and thus may contract to earn weighted GPA credit.
