Full Year Course

Gain the entry-level skills you need to get a job in advertising, commercial art, graphic design, desktop publishing, or presswork. Create your own designs and layouts, operate a process camera, learn darkroom techniques, and gain printing experience through offset presswork. 80% of this course is hands-on. In addition, as part of the "Panther Graphic Association" students will participate in many trade-related activities as leaders. Prerequisite: NTC Director’s office approval of your application

Become more knowledgeable in all areas of the graphic communication and printing industry. Pursue advanced work in graphic design, desktop publishing, Macintosh computer  operations, halftone photography, process color work, multiple layout design, and multi-negative stripping for larger presses. Continue your membership in the "Panther Graphic Association" and participate in trade related leadership activities. During the second semester, you will participate in an actual production environment and increase your knowledge in an area of your choice. In this structure, you will design and produce projects that range from simple business cards to complex brochures and books. 85% of this course is hands-on.  Prerequisite: Graphic Communication and Printing Technology 1
