It is always nice when travel plans go
well. We arrived in Amsterdam slightly ahead of schedule and took
a train to The Hague. From the train station, we took a taxi to our
hotel. Even though we were early, they had a room available for
us. This made things much more enjoyable. After settling in, Dr. Novak and I went out walking. The weather was a little cool (high 30's) but it was nice to stretch your legs and walk after the long flight. Throughout The Hague, we saw these life size plastic cows that were colorfully painted in various designs. This was my favorite with tulips on it. Do I look cold? That evening we went to a charming restaurant called "It Rains Fishes". The name of the restaurant comes from the Thai myth about a time of plenty when fish "fall from the sky". Can you guess what kind of food was their specialty? |

After a good nights sleep and fabulous
breakfast, we were off to explore more of The Hague. One the matters that was discussed on the audio tour of the museum was that 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' was a "tronie". To learn more about WHAT a "tronie" is go to Girl with A Pearl Earring |
