Virtual FieldTrip 2004-2005
The Life and Times of Christopher Columbus

Following the trail of Christopher Columbus in Spain around the year 1492 is going to be very interesting.  It is also going to be hard work since sites important to Christopher Columbus are rather spread out.  The information on this webpage will be growing after I return from Spain.
In 1485, Columbus and his son Diego arrived at Monastery of Santa Maria de La Rabida near Palos de la Frontera.  Columbus's first voyage of exploration left from Palos de la Frontera on August 3, 1492. I am sure much has changed since 1492. I can wait to see it all!
Mrs. Novak is going to start her tracking of Columbus at the monastery.  So let us read and explore more about Christopher Columbus.  Take a few minutes and watch the video on United Streaming about the Age of Exploration. You will need to do this with either Mrs. Novak, your teacher or in the computer lab.

Take a few minutes and read at least one of these biographies.  To help you keep track of all of this information Mrs. Novak has started a Christopher Columbus Timeline for you.  YOU are going to have to fill in all the special dates.
