Virtual Tour of Austria and Vienna

Mrs. Novak has visited Austria a couple of times. In 1993, Dr. Novak taught in Innsbruck.  In 2000, Dr. Novak taught in Munich, Germany and we visited Salzburg.   Austria is a lovely country that extends from the Alps to the Danube Valley.
On this trip, we will actually be visiting Austria TWICE!  After leaving Switzerland, we will be going to Austria along the shores of Lake Constance for two nights.  At the very end of the trip, we will be staying in Vienna (Wien).

Vienna is vibrant city full of cultural and historical places to visit.  It is one of my favorite cities in the World.   I am sure that things have changed since I last visited.  Please help me find some exciting places to visit.

                           The Spanish Riding School
Mrs, Novak has loved horses ALL her life.  Since a small child, I have been lucky enough to have a horse or pony.  I have also always loved to read about horses and ponies.  My favorite author as a child (and even today) is Marguerite Henry especially in combination with the illustrator, Wesley Dennis.  I have read and reread their books MANY, many times.  You can read a good book many times and still enjoy it.

Spanish Riding School One of my favorite books from this combination of author and illustrator, is "White Stallion of Lipizza".  It is the story of a boy growing up in Vienna with the dream of becoming a Riding Master at the Spanish Riding School.  I just finished rereading this book.  I am sure this book will help me appreciate seeing the performance of the Spanish Riding School when Dr. Novak, Gretchen and I see them on June 9th.
