Fairy Tale Mapping |
|||
| Let us 'map' a fairy tale that you are
reading. Mapping in this case, means we are summarizing the
story. This is done from the point of view of one of the
characters in the fairy tale. Here is how you do it. Someone is any one of the characters in the tale. The Want is what they are trying to do or get. But is the opposition, problem or conflict in the story. SO is the resolution or then ending of the story. Example: In "The Three Little Pigs", 'someone' could be the 3 little pigs. 'Want' is that they want to be safe in their houses. 'But' the big bad wolf comes along and blows down the house of straw and the house of sticks and eats two of pigs. 'SO' the third pig has a strong brick house, boils the wolf that has climbed down the chimney and lives happily ever after. |
