Virtual Tour of Germany and Cologne

    Mrs. Novak and Gretchen will be skipping in and out of Germany after spending the first two days in Switzerland.  Gretchen and I will be staying in Austria on the shores of Lake Constance in a real castle (see Virtual Tour of Austria). We will be taking a ferry up the German coast of Lake Constance and plan to visit some of the old German cities on the shores of Lake Constance.  To learn more about Lake Constance got to Cruising Clear Water.  We are also planning to visit the Isle of Mainau.  Click on the link below to learn more about this island in Lake Constance.  
      Dr. Novak has changed his plans.  Sadly, he can not come with Gretchen and I.  On June 1st, Gretchen and I will be going to a horse show in the Netherlands on the  grounds of a castle.  You can see some of web pages of these breeders by clicking on Welsh Ponies of the Netherlands.  To learn more about, go to Castles.  It will show you more about the famous castles of Germany.
      After leaving the Netherlands, we will be staying in Cologne, Germany.  This is JUST a fun "visit" so you don't have any Learning Logs to do on this Virtual Fieldtrip BUT you have plenty of other activities to do.
Isle of Mainau

                                        A Visit to Cologne 
     Cologne OR Koln as it is known by the locals is one of the largest cities in Germany.  It is also a city full of history.  We will be spending two days in Cologne.  Dr. Novak and I briefly visited Koln in 1996.  To me, the Cathedral of Koln is one of the most impressive Cathedrals in all of Europe.  IF you are a daring individual, you may want to go to Cathedral Math  that will explain more about the great Gothic Cathedrals of Europe.
