Learning Log #3 Images of Native American Life - From 1860 Forward.

Pictures tell many stories.  These two websites use pictures and the actual words of people to tell you more about the life of Native Americans.  Most of this information is about Navajo.  

Using the web site Voices from a Trading Post answer the following questions.  Click on Looking Back 1860 - 2000.  Take the slide show 1860 - 1925.
1. What do you think the winter hogan is made of? Do you think it would be warm in the winter? 

 

2. How many cars do you see in all the pictures?  What form of transportation is used instead?

 

3. Take a look at pictures from 1925 to 1950.  Who are the code talkers and what did they do?  You may need to use Navajo Code Talkers  website to find the answer.
