FrontPage Resources for Classes 

Introduction

This workshop will consist of 2 sessions and 1 optional follow-up session.  Session l is independent study and must be done before attending Session II.  Please make sure that you take the time (2 hours) to complete the activities and assignment for session I. We will meet for the first time as a group for session II at the designated time and computer lab.   Please bring your homework with you to session II so that we can have a productive session.  We want YOU to leave with a usable relevant website!

Session I:
1)   Please read the following article about the impact of color on people with partial vision.  The graphics are great and the content is relevant for web design.   Effective Color Contract.   
 2)   Please visit several teacher’s websites (3-5 should be sufficient) and make notes on the functionality that you would like to use in your class website.   Here are a few to get you started.

 3)   Create a plan for your webpage.  This could be a schematic diagram (use the draw toolbar in Word or sketch it by hand) or an outline form.  Please bring this to class with you, or save it to a file that you can access from our WORLD network.  If you would like to be able to post pictures or specific clip art or fonts to your website during this session, please save them to your network folder or bring them on disk.   

Session II:
1) Meet at the designated lab – as punctually as possible please!
2) Activate your web folder http://nashua.edu/lastnamefirstinitital
3) Basic page properties.
4) Tables and their use in web design.
5) Cell properties.
6) Inserting clip art, pictures, and text (and saving images to your web folder).
7) Creating hyperlinks
8)  Bookmark – link on a single page
9) Preview page 2 ways – with preview pane and in browser
10) Time to CREATE!!!
