Matthew Thornton

 

      Matthew Thornton studied medicine (in 1740). He also has his own medical center named after him.  Matthew Thornton was a New Hampshire signer of the Declaration of Independence.  Matthew Thornton served as president of New Hampshire Continental Congress in 1775. He practiced  medicine in Londonderry, New Hampshire. Matthew Thornton came to America in 1716 (when he was a young child).
