Blogging with Mrs. Novak

What is a blog and blogging?  The word 'blog' stands for a web log.  A web log can be many things including a personal diary published on the web that people can comment on.  Web logs can also include pictures.  If you would like a more complete definition of blog go to Blog - Wikipedia.
My blog is going to be a travel diary of my trip to China.  I am sure you will love to read my travel diary and see all the pictures I am going to post.  It is going to be like you were with me!
I think the BEST part of my blog is that you can ask me questions and give me suggestions on places to see and things to do while I am in China.  When you write to my blog (called posting), I will get a message telling me I have a new post.  If I am online with my laptop, I can see your message and answer you immediately.  I think this is REALLY cool!
DON'T forget that Mrs. Novak is very concerned with your safety on the Internet.  You CAN NOT use your real name when you post me.  You must use your Chinese name that you got while doing

SO where do you go to get to Mrs. Novak's blog?   Click on
Discovery Educator Abroad  As of September 25th, the website only has an explanation of my China blog.  VERY soon, Mrs. Novak's first posting will be up.  Once my posting is up, you can go to the end of my post and click on comment.  This will bring you to another screen that will show you all the comments.  Click on 'add a new comment'.  This will bring you to the window were you can type in your message.
Just so you know, for the sake of Internet safety all posts need to be approved by either myself or the webmaster.  I don't want any bad things on this blog.  Also remember that people from all around the United States and world will be reading this blog.  Please be careful of your spelling and grammar.
Because the whole world can see what you are writing, I highly suggest THREE very important steps in creating your postings. First, read out loud what you have written.  Many times when you read out loud, you 'hear' the grammar mistakes you have made.  Next, ask one of your friends or a partner to read what you have written. I am sure they will be able to help you IF they don't fully understand what you have written.  Finally, check with your teacher and have them read what you have written.  They can also help you with editing if needed. Please do not just press the 'submit' button before going through these three steps. I would hate to have to delete your posting because it is poorly written or has glaring spelling mistakes
WHEW, I think I have told you everything you need to know to blog with Mrs. Novak.  OH NO, I forgot the MOST important thing!  Please have fun doing this.  I know I plan to.  Yours, Mrs. Novak
