Book Bytes is student designed and maintained website. Four students from Miss Fiske's 4th grade class at Amherst St. (Class of 2003 - 2004) have started this year long project.  Mrs Novak would like to thank Miss Fiske, Dylan, Mariano, Nick and Taylor for all their hard work.


 

Cam Jansen and The Mystery of the Television Dog 

Hi my name is Katie.  I read a book that is called Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the Television Dog by David A. Adler and illustrated by Susanna Natti.  I really like this book a lot.  If you like dogs that are famous you would like this book a lot too!   I would like to know if you like dogs.  I do.   The dog’s name is Poochie he is a Dalmatian.  As you can see the book is a mystery.  If you would like to find out about this book you can go to a school library or a local library.  Remember that the book is by David A. Adler and is illustrated by Susanna Natti.

 

Captain Underpants

The Captain Underpants series is a good series. George and Harold are the main characters in the books. They do a lot of bad things. They make silly comic books about their principal and other characters. These books make me laugh! You won’t believe who Captain Underpants is!! George and Harold fight characters with very interesting names. You will have to read the books to find out! By Mariano

  Captain Under Pants And the Big Bad Battle Of The Bionic Booger Boy

 I like the Captain Under pants books because they are funny.  My favorite part in Captain Under Pants And the Big Bad Battle Of The Bionic Booger Boy by Dav Pilkey is when the Bionic Booger Boy Sneezes on the kids This book is really funny.  By Nathan

            Hi!  My name is Joey.  If you like books with funny words and funny people then you would like this book called Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets.  My favorite part was when a talking toilet ate George and Harold’s gym teacher, Mr. Meany.  This book is a fantasy because there are no such things as talking toilets.  By Joey
 

The Case of the Lost Dogs

            If you love dogs, you will like this book.  The book I chose for the book review is The Case of the Lost Dogs by Beatrice S. Smith.  I thought it was weird when one kid returned twelve dogs in one week.  He wore a yellow coat.  THAT is an important clue to solve the mystery.  By Brian

 

The Cat’s Purr

     Do you like to read about animal friends?  Then you will like this book The Cat’s Purr by Ashley Bryan.  The problem is that Cat let’s Rat do anything that Cat does.  When Cat gets a drum, Cat will not let Rat use it.  Cat says it is a cat drum.  Rat get hungry and….  To find out the ending , read this book.  By Nicholas

Do you want to go to war? If you said yes to my question, you should read my favorite book Civil War on Sunday by Mary Pope Osborne. Civil War on Sunday is a fantasy and information book. So if you read one of her books you should read one more book in her series. You will not believe what adventures Jack and Annie have. If you like money, read Double Fudge by Judy Blume.  It is about a boy who loves money.  The boy starts talking with his five year old brother in the bathroom about money.  The brother starts learning  about money.
