For more than a decade, Nashua Senior High graduate Heather McKillop has brought confidence and enthusiasm to her role as an educator - in the classroom, in the administration office and on the athletic field.
At Sacred Heart University, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Arts in Teaching and an Intermediate Administrative Certification. At Southern Connecticut State University, she earned a Master of Science in School Health.
Ms. McKillop has taught English at the high school and university levels. At Bunnell High School, Stratford, CT, she served as a curriculum writer for English Language Arts grades 9-12, chaired the school’s safety committee and was faculty advisor to the student government. As a member of a New England Association of Schools and Colleges visitation team, she focused on instructional practices; her true passion.
A mid-fielder on Sacred Heart University’s lacrosse team, she went on to be named assistant coach there and helped lead the team to the 2010 Northeast Conference championship. She transitioned to coaching varsity high-school lacrosse at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, and was voted by her peers as the 2015 Fairfield County Interscholastic Conference lacrosse coach of the year. She also has coached for the Connecticut Grizzlies, an elite lacrosse travel team.
Heather taps into all these diverse experiences, working to strengthen a rapport with students and the entire Nashua school community.
