Water in Nashua School District schools is safe to drink. Testing in 2016 confirmed water is safe. The Nashua School District is working with the City of Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services to plan for the continued and periodic testing of water, and collaborating on how to fund testing to be sure our water continues to be safe to drink.
New Hampshire is taking important steps in addressing the problem of childhood lead poisoning. In February 2018, Governor Sununu signed into law requirements for testing young children and for testing water sources in schools. Apparently New Hampshire is a high-risk state for lead poisoning because its old housing stock.
