Quick Introduction to PowerPoint

 

  1. Start menu- Programs- Microsoft PowerPoint
  2. Click on PowerPoint
  3. Dot statement that says “use blank template” or “design template
    1. If using design it will bring up a page where you can pick background
  4. Choose slide layout
    1. For Slide 1: use first layout
    2. For Slide 2: your choice (see me if you need help)
    3. For Slide 3: use 2nd layout
    4. For Slide 4: use 2nd layout
    5. For Slide 5: use 2nd layout
  5. Type on each slide in the highlighted boxes
  6. New slide
    1. Insert- new slide
    2. Choose layout
    3. Repeat for each new slide
  7. For pictures
    1. Use Internet Explorer
    2. Right click on picture and copy
    3. Return to PowerPoint and find area to put picture
    4. Right click on area and choose paste
  8. Save
    1. File-save as
    2. Name your file with “mission….”
    3. Choose “desktop” on left side of the window
    4. Choose “Short-cut to grades”
    5. Choose “Meckel” folder
    6. Choose your class period
    7. Press “Save”
