Welcome!!  Principal Patti Place

We are delighted that you have an interest in learning more about the Academy of Learning and Technology (ALT). Viewing our website will assist you in learning a bit more about us.

ALT is the Nashua School District’s alternative middle school for at-risk students. We have 110 learners in the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grades, and are beginning our sixth year. Our building wide focus is on enhancing academic achievement, particularly in the areas of literacy and reading. The Scholastic READ 180 Program, along with other nationally recognized best practices, are the cornerstones of our language arts curriculum.

It is important to understand that our school is a community of students and adults committed to the success of each learner. We provide small classroom settings, one-on-one attention, socio-emotional support and a non-traditional approach to learning for each of our students.

ALT continually attempts to perpetuate positive community connections. We have partnerships with City Year New Hampshire, the Boys & Girls Club of Nashua, Cisco Systems and the Springbrook Farm in Vermont.

We are a dynamic, energetic and focused school. Please contact us if you need any more information about us.

2006 NH Middle School of Excellence

We were thrilled to receive the news that ALT was selected by the New Hampshire Excellence in Education Awards Committee as the 2006 New Hampshire Middle School of Excellence.  This independent committee of experienced educators and community members evaluate schools in terms of effectiveness in Curriculum/Instruction, Teaching/Learning Processes, Student Achievement, Leadership/Decision-Making, Community/Parental Involvement and School Climate.  This prestigious award is a huge honor for all of us.  It could not have been achieved without the collaboration of the Board of Education, the Central Office Staff, all of the other 18 schools, the entire district and the Greater Nashua Community.  Thank you everyone for all of your support in our brief four years of existence.
