Many ALT students have had the wonderful opportunity to spend a few days at Spring Brook Farm in beautiful Reading, Vermont. This actual, working dairy farm provides the students with a supervised
setting to learn first hand about nature, farm animals and life on the farm. More importantly, however, this rich experience teaches lessons about teamwork, cooperation and perseverance that can dramatically change the way our students feel about themselves. Feelings of personal success and companionship follow the students long after their return to Nashua. “One of the best things about bringing our kids up to the farm is the pure fun they have. It is just so wonderful to see them running around, playing and being kids again without all the pressure of street culture. They work hard too, and they feel really proud of accomplishing things they thought they could never do.” – Rick Lydon, Teacher/Chaperone
