Philosophy of Education: |
I believe all children have the
ability to learn, but the manner in which each child learns may be
considerably different. Each student is unique with special gifts and
talents. As educators, we have the awesome responsibility of helping
students to tap into their own strengths and find their place in the
classroom. I believe the most effective teachers invite their students
into the learning environment. They take time to build relationships and
they use a listening ear to hear students' opinions. They prepare
lessons on that are current, relevant and interesting to students. They
offer a variety of options to meet each learning style. They work side
by side with students and and encourage cultural exchanges. This type of
teacher can effectively create a classroom where students' gifts and
passions are cultivated, where communication is encouraged, where
culture is valued and where students learn lessons they will carry with
them for a lifetime. |
