Making connections with our students is the backbone of what we do. "A good predictor of a student's success is the student's perception of whether their teacher likes them or not."

The Adventure group, a program that ALT supports, is facilitated by Dr. Marc Laquerre with the help of Joe Miller, Stephanie Keating Bayrd, James Firmin, Bradley Schott, William McIntosh as well as the director of PAL, Officer Tom Bolton.

The students participate in a series of activities and initiatives that promote cooperation and team building. These are skills that many of our students need.

Activities are designed so that success can only be achieved if the students work together. The social skills that are stressed include positive communication, shared decision-making, negotiation and full participation. We have seen students that typically don’t do well in the classroom do well in adventure group.
